  • Dr Parimal Patel BDS, MFGDP, DPDS, MSc

    Implant Dentistry

    Parimal attained his bachelor of dental surgery from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in 1984. He became a general dental practitioner and has developed a successful dental practice, Smiledent, in Seven Sisters London N15. Smiledent is a well-known referral centre for Implant and Surgical Dentistry.

    Parimal has successfully completed many postgraduate diploma training courses and has been awarded the MFGDP (UK) and DPDS (Bristol) in 1999 and 2002 respectively. Having acquired an interest in Implant Dentistry he embarked on a three year Implant Programme at Warwick University and completed his MSc in Implant Dentistry in 2006. Parimal has also trained at the world renowned Eastman Dental Institute and has acquired a certificate in Advanced Implantology.

    Parimal is a generalist with an active interest in advance restorative, implant and surgical dentistry. He is an active member of his LDC and is a member of ADI, EOA, BACD, FGDP, DDU and CODE.

    Parimal has been a vocational trainer since 2000 and is also a part-time senior clinical teacher at Kings College Dental Institute, London and a teaching fellow at Warwick University. He is an approved mentor in Implantology by the Association of Dental Implantologist and Straumann.

  • Dr Sheraz Aleem

    Dr Sheraz Aleem qualified from Kings College London in 2003 with BDS as well as a BSc. He carried out his vocational training at Smiledent and has been there ever since.

    Sheraz interest is in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, and to facilitate this he has been a member of the AACD for the last 5 years and is a regular attendee to their annual conference, in the USA

    He has recently obtained the certificate in restorative at Eastmans dental institute, this is an advanced intensive one-year restorative course. Dr Aleem is currently attending the Pankey essentials continuum in Miami Florida. This is a world renound Institute for occlusion and restorative dentistry, and will facilitate his learning and management of patients with advanced tooth wear and joint problems.

    He is also Qualified in Botox And fillers as well clearstep orthodontics and is due to start a one year implant course at the end of this year at the tattum institute in Birmingham.

    Outside of dentistry Sheraz enjoys traveling, golf and skiing

  • Dr Pratik Patel

    Pratik qualified form Birmingham Dental hospital and joined Smiledent in 2004 as a vocational trainee under Dr P R Patel. He has become an invaluable and irreplaceable member of the Smiledent team. He is a qualified Clear step practitioner. His Dental interests include the treatment of the anxious patient.

    He has a passion for cricket and is the captain of his cricket team, Barnet.

  • Dr Jiten Patel

    Dr. Jiten Patel completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Gujarat at Ahmedabad, India in 2002. As a result of his outstanding performance during his undergraduate training, he was offered a full time residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery which he successfully completed and received his postgraduate MDS in 2004.

    Jiten came to the UK in 2005 and completed his conversion exams while working at the Royal Salford Hospital in Manchester. Since then he has completed his vocational training under Dr P R Patel at Smiledent Dental Surgery in 2006 and has stayed on as a part time associate. Jiten has also held a clinical tutorship in Oral Surgery at the prestigious Kings College Dental Institute.

    Jiten is an active member in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and attends their conferences in the USA.He has a keen interest in continual professional development and continues to attend various courses and conferences.

    In his spare time he enjoys basketball, squash and spending time with his family. He is an avid cricket fan.

  • Magdalene Kubiangha

    Dental Hygienist

    Mrs Kubiangha qualified as a Dental Hygienist in Nigeria in 1977 before moving to the UK in 1982 with her family. In 1984 she joined Haringey’s Community Dental Service as a dental hygienist. In 1986 she joined Haringey’s Oral Health Promotion Unit as an Oral Health Promoter and was promoted to Senior OHP in 1992, a position she holds today.

    Mrs Kubiangha studied for a Diploma in Dental Health Education before gaining her teaching certificate in 1986. Wishing to further her studies she successfully completed a degree course in Social Science and passed with honours in 1991. Mrs Kubiangha retains her Hygiene registration and skills by working some Saturdays in private practice and has attended updated courses in dental hygiene at Guy’s and King’s Dental Hospitals. She is also an active member of her professional association.

    Mrs Kubiangha joined Smiledent Dental Practice in 2007 as a part time dental hygienist.

  • Kassie Lawal

    Head Nurse (RDN)

    Kassie has been a member of Smiledent since December 2001. She qualified as a dental nurse in July 2005, and since then went on to qualify in dental sedation (2006), dental radiography (2007), and oral health education (2008) from the prestigious Eastman dental institute.

    Kassie is a dedicated individual, and a hard worker. She plays a big role in the practice; receptionist/nursing, assisting with dental implants within and outside of the practice. Working close with the hygienist to build an efficient patient list, and many more. All these qualities make Kassie very popular, and loved by all members of staff.

    Kassie is also registered with the General Dental Council, and a long term member of Haringey’s Sure start team.

    In her spare time, Kassie enjoys spending time with her daughter and socialising. Her hobbies include hairdressing, which she feels very passionate about.

  • Despina Sotiri

    Practice Manageress

    Dee has been a member of Smiledent since March 1995. She qualified as a dental nurse in November 1999. Since then, she went on to study and gain qualifications in oral health education (2005) special care dentistry (2007) and dental radiography (2008).

    Dee is a very loyal and dedicated member of staff. She is very empathetic and caring towards patients. She has devoted her life to Smiledent, which she feels very passionate about, and strives to make it a better and unique practice. Apart from her busy working schedule, Dee is also a mother of three beautiful children.
